This week's prayer requests

1. Our finances. At this rate, Caleb says that our ministry is running by the grace of God, thanks to low rent and everyone keeping costs down. Still, sometimes parking is tight on Sunday, and if we continue to grow--which is our wish--our budget/costs will necessarily grow larger.

2. Our families. At this juncture, we have many families coming to The Bridge along with people in other stages of life. I would say the only stage of life not represented at The Bridge is the elderly. That said, pray for the spiritual life and health of families, whatever these units might look like. God is deeply interested in mending and healing your family. Every family has problems, but what does true joy, peace, and love look like in a family? I never knew until Jesus saved my Dad and he started going to church. (This was back in 1996).

3. Our community. We feel compelled to pray for The Bridge and its relationship with the local community. Christianity, or any other religion for that matter, may change lives, but it's Christ who saves. What does that mean? Typically people are conditioned to think saved from hell. But the word of God describes itself as living water for those who are extremely thirsty--those who are metaphorically in extreme need. And so my prayer is may The Bridge exist for those who are thirsty!

4. Our nation. I'm running out of time and need to run off to work...but please pray for our great country! I pray that people in Congress would work with each other and put down their ideologies and return to the reason why they got into politics in the first place--to make a difference and to serve the public.
