Just a few more days until...

Beginning September 13, we'll be in the soft launch stage of our church plant.

If you didn't know already, Sunday service and smalls groups were rather informal the last couple of months. Now they've taken shape and are more ready for the public.

If you'd like a postcard invitation to our Sunday Worship Service, please email me at leanne.kang@thebridge-nj.org.

Please continue to pray for us. As the church planters run around getting ready for the next stage, which is much more public, may they keep Christ at the center. While they may aim to make a good impression I'm sure, may they be reminded that church planting is essentially a countercultural movement. You just can't measure the success of a church the way you normally do in most other settings.

Moreover, rather than making impressions, our prayer should be that the living God would be found at The Bridge. We should be reminded that sadly people don't expect to encounter God at church. Instead, there's an expectation to experience a particular religious culture. In the history of church, one could argue that the church has been one of the greatest symbols of cultural institutions and establishments. Therefore, may the leaders care less about their organization but more about God's presence and love for a broken world.

The whole act of church planting is really about the deepest part of your heart, our disposition towards Christ, and a supernatural love for others.
