HOW YOU CAN HELP

The Alliance Responds to Haitian Disaster

As most of you are aware of by now, the 7.0 earthquake that struck Port-au-Prince, Haiti’s capital, on January 12 has devastated the region and left a death toll that may top 100,000. The hospitals are gone, and medical supplies are desperately needed. About 3 million people—one-third of Haiti’s population—were impacted by the quake.

Our denomination (Christian and Missionary Alliance) will be working with our sister association CAMA (Compassion and Mercy Associates) to provide immediate assistance such as clean water, emergency shelter, medical aid, and other necessities—as well as long-term help in rebuilding efforts, integrating Jesus’ message of redemption with practical acts of compassion. CAMA is the relief and development arm of The Alliance and provides aid for people in crisis situations.

Rather than take up a collection through church, we are asking you to give your financial assistance directly to CAMA. You can do so at this link by clicking on the GIVE NOW button under the Haitain Disaster heading: http://www.cmalliance.org/give/relief. And let’s continue praying for the people whose lives have been destroyed by this tragedy, that relief work will be effective and resources will be rightly administered, and that the spotlight of the gospel may shine on this impoverished and needy country. Thanks for your concern, care and support in this time of crisis.
